Pascal’s brilliant work “Pensées” is in reality notes he had put together for a book he planned to write. Pensées is French for thoughts and reflects the sporadic nature of this work; while loosely organized the work is definitely not completed. Still Pascal’s brilliant and logical mind provides wonderful avenues for the reader to begin to truly think through many questions of faith. In some respects science has advance to the point that Pascal’s arguments seem strange, but, even in these places we can still understand and learn from the questions which he asked. The more intellectual nature of the work might cause some to tur away, but, this is a wonderful resource which truly helps one reflect on some deeper aspects of life.
