G. K. Chesterton Orthodoxy

Orthodoxy is the companion to G. K. Chesterton’s Heretics, in which he discussed different modern philosophies through the lenses of their proponents. In Orthodoxy he lays out what he believes to be the fundamentals of Christian belief, including what many perceive as difficulties. True to his style, Chesterton looks at the issues from a vantage point different from most, forcing the reader to engage the material in new ways. Mixed in with this are heaping doses of wit and charm, which are staples of Chesterton. This book is very good and helps one think through what Christianity is all about. Anyone interested should first pick up Heretics, while the names have changed many of the philosophies have not, and this will provide an excellent primer for understanding Orthodoxy.
