Charles Sheldon

In His Steps is Charles Sheldon’s great work and at a time when revivalism was prominent in the Church, he focused on action.  At the time he wrote many churches were emphasizing “belief” in Jesus as making a commitment to Jesus.  Sheldon responded with a fictional story that showed belief in Jesus naturally took the form of living and ministering as Jesus would.  Sheldon reminds us that Jesus did say, “Go and do likewise”, not “Go and affirm likewise”.  truly a must read.
